Promoting gender equality at the top of the legal profession is one of the goals Almudena Arpón de Mendívil has set to achieve during her two-year term (2023-2024) as president of the International Bar Association (IBA). It is a goal that is dear to her. She is only the second woman to hold the position in IBA’s 75-year history — the first one was Diane Kempe in 2001-2002 — and Arpón de Mendívil wants to ensure the recent achievements of women taking leading roles in law firms are perpetuated.
