The arrival of Gen Z at law firms represents a clash, no doubt. Even in their modern form, firms are centred on pillars of tradition, hierarchy, longevity, and experience. The new generation, which now populates the junior positions in these two-centuries-crafted institutions, comes with demands and expectations of autonomy, creativity, work-life balance, and altruism, which challenge many tenets of the law firm structure. No surprise, many, either at the top management or those starting their careers, struggle to find common ground.
